Goals from Palestine - Dynamo Moscow

Mohammed Samara's penalty can be seen below. The Dynamo equalizer can be seen here. Or if you prefer check out Football Palestine's very own youtube site for all sorts of multimedia fun!

As you can see the state of the pitch was atrocious to say the least and the stadium seemed to lack a place for cameras to set up. I guess the FA wanted to give the people of Jericho an opportunity to see their team in action and decided to play the game here instead of the FIFA sanctioned Faisal Al-Husseini Memorial Stadium.

Palestine 1 - 1 Dynamo Moscow

So another positive result for the national team on home soil as Al-Fursan managed to hold Dynamo Moscow of the Russian Premier League to a 1-1 draw in Jericho. Problems obtaining travel clearances from the Israeli occupying force prevented captain Ramzi Saleh, star striker Ahmad Keshkesh, and Ammar Abu Seliesel from participating in this match. Despite being shorthanded Palestine had some notable names making a return after prolonged absence Mohammed Shatrit (JA Drancy, France) and Mohammed Samara (Arab Contractors, Egypt) made their first appearances under Moussa Bazaz. Most of the squad was made up of younger players who play in the West Bank Premier League and have had decent showings in recent months with a 2-1 win against Jordan and an injury time loss to Tunisia last week.

Dynamo's high profile winter purchase- Ukranian striker Andriy Voronin did not feature but Dynamo fielded a full-strength side in preparation for the upcoming Russian Premier League season.

An open affair in the first half that saw Mohammed Shatreet and Ismail Amour go close. Mohammed Samara looked especially good controlling the pace of the game in the midfield and setting up his teammates with incisive passes. The game opened up in the second and Palestine were awarded for their efforts with a penalty awarded by the Emirati referee. Mohammed Samara duly converted and a few minutes later Aleksandr Dimidko slotted home the equalizer. Halfway through the second half defender Rif'at Eid was sent off courtesy of a double yellow, the game remained open with both teams going forward in search of a winner but defences held firm for the 1-1 draw.
